I had a rough start when it came to fostering. I have taken a couple of months to "regroup" my thoughts and I've taken another shot at it. So here I am, with another little in the house and I have to admit that this little one (4yr old) has been heaven sent. This child was scared (of course) when they first stayed with us but has since warmed up to us and we couldn't be happier to have this kiddo with us even if it's only temporary.
In the three weeks we've been a family of 6, I've made sure to get out of the house more often. I've been a part of a Mom's group for a few months now and these moms have really made all these crazy months seem more bearable. We have play dates music classes, & park time which really allows me to be able to speak to other moms. This week, I had the opportunity to meet two more mommas and it was very refreshing to speak to them. I've never been the most social person but I'm so glad that I found this mom's group and that I have the opportunity to meet more like-minded mommas in my community.
If you are looking to connect with other mommies in the area, why not check your local
Meetup groups and see if you can join in?
You might be surprised to find some pretty cool mommas close to you. If there's no Meetup group in your area, why not start one? If you're not much into finding mommy groups online, hit up your local library during a kiddie story time and chat it up with another mom, chances are, she's just as eager to speak to another adult if she's been hanging out with her toddler all day. :)
