Yeeeuuup! You read that correctly! We are now foster parents. While planning an adoption a while back, we were introduced to the world of foster care. We met children waiting to be adopted and our hearts ached at the thought of these little ones running around with constant uncertainty in their lives.
How do these children end up in foster care? Various reason. Neglect, physical abuse, sexual abuse... There are many reasons children wind up in care and non of those reasons are really ever in their control. The kids eventually will require stability and guidance to get back on track and many times they just don't get enough of either.
I hope and pray that we have the patience and creativity to get someone enough help and guidance to change their path in life. I hope to do good things and make a change in this world. It's one life, one change, but ultimately that child will contribute to society, and I hope it's in a good way.
Wish us luck! We just had our first kiddo join us. This kid seems to have good intentions despite the rough background. This child seems to NEED structure and love. I hope we can give this child enough to make life a better place for them.
