Before becoming a SAHM, I worked for a local charter school. While working at the school, I was introduced to "Good Things."
Upon starting the school day, the class would gather and share their good things to bring unity to the group of kids. This was also an opportunity to learn about others in class. We used this during staff meetings too and it really stuck with me. The kids were always eager to come to school to share their "good thing." I always had hands flying up in the air in hopes that they would be picked to share their "good thing."
Well now I'm at home with my family... I have my bio kids as well as my foster kids. What better way to unify our family than by implementing daily sharing of "good things?!"
The kids look forward to our daily family dinners at the table. We learn a little bit about what makes our children, including our newbie foster daughters, happy. We have something to smile about as the kids pass along the "good things glasses" and share their thoughts. It's a good feeling when you look around the table and everyone has moment of pure joy as we enjoy a meal. <3
