Today I want to cover our wash routine. A lot of moms out there are using the nifty camp style wash bucket (which I happen to think is a fabulous idea!) Since I am the queen of procrastination, I didn't make a bucket for the challenge. I decided that I could probably wash as I go so I have been. This method has worked so far but I have a feeling that by the end of the challenge, my hands will be ripped to shreds... I kid... But really, my hands are feeling a bit dry after only two full days of the challenge.
I have some gloves which I used the first two times I washed.. Then I decided they were a PITA and went glove free for all the following washes.
I use our tub, hot water, and my trusty Dr. Bronners. (I use the soap in a foam dispenser and water it down to about 1:4)
Here's this morning's "load." I rinse out the diapers (I like to wring them out and rinse again to keep them soaked while working with them), squirt some of the foamy soap on the diapers, and scrub away.
I think I should have invested in a little gardening knee pad lol... My back is getting upset with me as each diaper passes. Or maybe I'm just a big baby ;)
Where is my kiddo during all of this?
I made him a nice cozy corner with a basket of books, and throw pillows... He loves it... And most times, it keeps him occupied enough to wash the diaper(s) and hang them out on the line. When I'm not so lucky with him, I just wait until nap time rolls around to do the washing.
Today is a good day, Ben is being very cooperative!
